Cool Video: Vintage Cold War Propaganda--Must See

This Cool video is a four minute clip that is well worth your time.  It was posted on You Tube by Nightflight 01201.   It shows why the US must have a strong military and why it cannot let Europe be dominated by the Soviet Union.  Unexpectedly, even if not surprisingly, it also links shopping, as an expression of liberty, with patriotism and the Cold War struggle.  It is both entertaining and scary.    

Quite clearly, the ideological conflict with the Soviet Union reflected a divergence of national interests with Russia.  Ideology may have given it an extra dimension, but some of the underlying tensions pre-date the 1917 revolution and have obviously survived the fall of communism in 1989.
